On October 25, the Lodestone team hosts our first annual charity gala, Poker Face Charlotte. We’re throwing a party with a purpose, raising money to benefit three local non-profits —Alzheimer’s Association Western Carolina, Title I school Belleview Elementary and Murray’s Fund.
This week we’d like to tell you more about the organizations we’re supporting. We begin with the Alzheimer’s Association as described by Rachel Demeter, our own Black Belt Property Evangelist, who worked as marketing manager at the Association for three years before joining Lodestone.
Working at the Alzheimer’s Association, I came to understand how this disease affects not only patients but family and friends as well. They call it the long goodbye for a reason. It’s heartbreaking to watch a person transition from the life they’ve known to one where they can’t drive or work or go about their day-to-day lives as they always have.
Having witnessed the emotional and financial toil of Alzheimer’s firsthand, I understand the critical role that the Alzheimer’s Association plays in our community. They provide essential support to diagnosed patients and their families, including information, referrals and training programs that help families learn coping strategies and other essential skills.
The Alzheimer’s Association has created a better life for so many people. The love and care that the people in this organization put into their work is powerful to behold. With the funds raised at Poker Face Charlotte, we can help support this organization that has given so much to families in our own community.
Join us in supporting the Alzheimer’s Association by attending Poker Face Charlotte on October 25. Tickets available at pokerfacecharlotte.com.
