DIY Projects For The Final Days of Summer!

As we close out another summer season many of us are squeezing as much backyard fun as we can into these final warm weekends. Here are a few DIY backyard ideas to punch up those final carefree days!

Outdoor Bar

Warm weather is all about fun, and having an outdoor bar helps to kick it up a notch. You can DIY an outside bar using a pair of 30-inch stool ladders, a few pieces of wood, and old wooden boxes.

First, you will need to paint the stools and the bottom board and allow them to dry overnight. Once they are dry, you need to screw the bottom board to the stools. If you need extra space, screw in a tray in the center tray. To create a countertop, top the stools with vintage soda and beer boxes and complete it with a few boards. Create shelves that will accommodate the glasses and utensils to be used with the bar.

Make a Watermelon Centerpiece

As the name suggests, this is a project that requires the use of a watermelon. Cut open a giant watermelon, scoop out the inside, and skewer for guests. Add water to the now open space and use flowers fresh or store-bought from to complete to fill the empty space of the melon. The bright colors of the flowers pop against the watermelon shell, it’s a great Instagramable feature for your party!

DIY Cactus Terrarium

Many summer meals are held outside. Having a dining table that is well dressed will make mealtime even more enjoyable. You can create a DIY cactus terrarium to add greenery to your setting. Paint an empty container with your choice of color, add sand, a cactus plant, rocks, and succulent. The process of making the terrarium will take you less than five minutes. To attain that desired look, it is recommended you make several pieces of various sizes and cluster them in the center of the table.

However you DIY, we hope you soak up all of the best days that remain this summer!
